Professional Coalition Members
We currently recruit for the following tracks.
Members contribute their professional knowledge to safety audits, training sessions, plan development workgroups, and community engagement events — on schedules that work for them. All coalition members receive formal recognition, ongoing professional development, and access to Northern Star's research and resource library.
Safety & Security Specialist
Retired or active SROs, law enforcement, military, private security professionals, CPTED‑trained practitioners
Audits and plan review
Mental Health & SEL Clinician
Licensed counselors, psychologists, social workers, trauma specialists, school‑based mental health professionals
Training facilitation
Education Professional
Current or retired teachers, principals, counselors, curriculum specialists, district administrators
Plan development workgroups
Technology & Security Engineer
Cybersecurity professionals, security technology specialists, software engineers with safety/surveillance experience
Technical assessment support
Criminologist / Researcher
Academic criminologists, public health researchers, violence prevention specialists
Research and data review
Community Advocate
Faith leaders, community organizers, business owners, civic leaders with community safety interest

Ambassador Tracks
No professional credential required — just a commitment to school safety.
Ambassador tracks are open to students, parents, and community leaders who want to extend Northern Star's reach inside their schools and neighborhoods.
Student Ambassador
Student Ambassadors are the visibility and voice of Northern Star inside their schools. They organize safety awareness campaigns, assist with school safety feedback surveys, represent student perspectives in safety plan workgroups, and serve as peer leaders for the LEAD Ambassador program.

PTA Ambassador
PTA Ambassadors bridge Northern Star's work with the parent and family community. They help communicate safety initiatives to families, coordinate parent engagement events, gather community feedback, and support fundraising and awareness campaigns.

Community Ambassador
Community Ambassadors build Northern Star's relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, and neighborhood associations. They identify potential sponsors, support community safety events, and help establish Northern Star as a trusted community partner.
